The right replacement sling style depends on how your patio furniture frame is built. Look at where the old fabric is sewn (or torn) and at the spline grooves running along the rails. If the fabric is one continuous panel from the top of the back to the front of the seat, you have a one-piece sling. If the back and seat are two separate panels meeting at a hinge in the middle, you have a two-piece sling. If your chaise lounge has a cutout at the back where the recline hinge sticks through, you have a notched sling. Ottomans and footrests are always single rectangular panels.
Most replacement orders come from one of three buckets: a sling that has finally stretched out and gone saggy, a sling that ripped or tore at the seam, or a complete fabric refresh to update the color of an older patio set. All three are good reasons to replace - and all three start the same way: with three or four measurements and a fabric.
Every sling we sell is custom-fabricated in our USA workroom from your measurements. We do not stock pre-made sizes. The six styles above cover almost every patio chair, chaise lounge, and ottoman built in the past 50 years. If your old sling is unusual, has multiple cutouts, or has features you don't see on this page, email a photo through our contact page and we'll tell you whether we can match it.
We've manufactured custom replacement slings for nearly every major patio furniture maker, including Brown Jordan, Tropitone, Winston, Mallin, Telescope Casual, Woodard, Hampton Bay, Lloyd Flanders, Homecrest, Suncoast, Pride Family Brand, Martha Stewart Living, Allibert, Lyon-Shaw, and many regional brands. Fit isn't determined by brand - it's driven by the measurements you supply. If your frame accepts 1/4" or 5/16" vinyl spline, we can make a sling for it.
Once you've picked your sling style, the next decision is fabric. We offer three families of solution-dyed outdoor sling fabric: Sunbrella (premium acrylic blend with a three-year warranty), Phifertex (vinyl-coated polyester mesh, hundreds of patterns, great value), and Textilene (PVC-coated polyester, the standard on most original-equipment patio furniture). All three are UV-stable, mildew-resistant, and rated for pool-side use. Browse the full sling fabric catalog or order a sample swatch from any fabric detail page before you commit.
All of our patio sling include replacement vinyl spline to secure the sling in the rail slot. Pick a thickness that matches your existing spline, 1/4″ or 5/16″, and it will be included with your sling order. The old retaining spline gets brittle and shrinks after a few summers, cracking during installation or letting the fabric pull loose. If you need additional spline, it can be ordered by the foot. Most chairs slings need 6 to 10 feet and chaise lounge slings typically need 10 to 14 feet.
Current lead time to manufacture your custom slings is shown at the bottom-right of the footer on all pages. Once your sling leaves our production facility, US ground shipping is flat-rate. Every sling carries a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Custom slings are not returnable, so the best insurance is a few extra minutes with the tape measure and a quick photo to us if anything looks odd.
