Outdoor Sling Fabric for Replacement Patio Slings

Every fabric on this page is a true outdoor sling fabric engineered for UV stability, mildew resistance, and designed to be tensioned across a patio chair, chaise lounge, or ottoman frame and secured with vinyl spline. These are specifically made for sling type furniture and are not upholstery fabrics. We carry three families of sling fabric to match different preferences and budgets.

Sunbrella Sling

Sunbrella sling fabric is woven from 100% solution-dyed acrylic and vinyl-coated polyester yarns. It offers excellent color retention, durability, and a comfortable hand-feel. Sunbrella is backed by a five-year fabric warranty from Glen Raven and is a popular choice for both residential and commercial patio frames such as Brown Jordan, Tropitone, and Telescope Casual.

Phifertex

Phifertex is a vinyl-coated polyester mesh fabric made by Phifer Incorporated. It comes in hundreds of solid colors and jacquard patterns, breathes well, and dries quickly after rain. Phifertex sling fabric is commonly used on frames from Tropitone, Winston, Mallin, and other high-end manufacturers. It delivers strong value for replacement patio furniture slings.

Textilene Mesh

Textilene Mesh fabrics are the open-weave PVC-coated acrylic sling fabrics in our collection. As a lower-cost option, they still deliver excellent performance in sun, rain, and other outdoor conditions. These fabrics are strong, easy to wipe clean, and resist fraying at the rail-channel edge. Textilene Mesh is the standard original-equipment fabric on many big-box and regional-brand patio sets.

How to Choose a Sling Fabric

All of our sling fabrics are made for outdoor use and perform very well with sun exposure. Choosing the right sling fabric is mainly about aesthetics and how the color and pattern will look with your existing patio set. The best way to choose is to see the actual fabric in your own space with natural lighting. If you are trying to match an existing sling, order a sample swatch from the fabric detail page first and hold it up against the old fabric in daylight.

Order a Fabric Sample Before You Commit

Colors can vary between device screens, so the fabric you see online may not perfectly match how it will look in person. Many of our sling fabrics offer small swatches you can order directly from the fabric's details page when available. When you receive your sample swatches, place them on your existing patio furniture in natural daylight and choose the one that looks best in your space.

Care and Cleaning

All three fabric families can be hosed off, brushed with mild soap and warm water, and air-dried. Avoid bleach and pressure washers as both will damage the PVC coating, strip the color, and shorten the fabric's life. See our full care and cleaning guide for more detailed instructions.

Fabric Warranty

Each fabric manufacturer carries its own warranty: Sunbrella five years on fade, Phifertex and Textilene three years. Our workmanship warranty on the sewn sling is one year against manufacturing defects, independent of the fabric warranty.
