About One-Piece Replacement Chair Slings

A one-piece replacement chair sling is a single continuous panel of outdoor sling fabric that covers both the seat and the back of your patio chair as one piece. The fabric slides into the rail channels on each side of the frame and locks in place with vinyl spline. This is the most common replacement sling style on outdoor dining chairs, swivel rockers, action recliners, and high-back lounge chairs from most sling furniture brands. Every chair sling we ship is custom-cut and hand-sewn in our USA workroom from the three measurements you provide. We do not stock standard sized chair slings and each sling is made to order to fit your specific chair frame.

How to Measure a One-Piece Chair Sling

One-piece chair slings require three measurements: Length, Front Width, and Back Width. We recommend taking all three measurements with the old sling still installed on the chair frame, if possible. Measure to the nearest 1/8 inch. If the old sling is missing or stretched out, measure the rail-channel length and widths between rail-channel directly off the frame.

• Length: the distance from the top edge of the back rail down through the seat and around to the front edge of the seat rail, measured along the spline groove on one side of the chair.
• Front Width: the distance between the two seat rails at the front of the chair, channel to channel.
• Back Width: the distance between the two back rails at the top of the chair, channel to channel.

Spline Sizes

Every custom chair sling includes vinyl spline to lock it into the rail channels. Pick the spline thickness that matches your existing spline: 1/4" or 5/16". We send a continuous roll of roughly 6 to 10 feet of spline per chair that will need to be cut during installation. We also sell vinyl spline cord separately by the foot, cut to your length.

Sling Fabric Options

Choose from three families of solution-dyed outdoor sling fabric. All are UV-stable, mildew-resistant, and rated for outdoor and poolside use:

• Sunbrella Sling: woven from 100% solution-dyed acrylic and vinyl-coated polyester yarns. Premium quality, soft texture, fade resistance, and a five-year fabric warranty.
• Phifertex: vinyl-coated polyester mesh with hundreds of solid and jacquard patterns. Excellent breathability and a great value compared to Sunbrella.
• Textilene: PVC-coated polyester woven sling fabric. Strong, easy to clean, and the standard choice for many original-equipment patio furniture brands.
